On 12 February, Restaurant Mosaic will be hosting an exclusive tasting with Spain’s most famous and revered winery, Vega Sicilia. This event marks a first for South Africa and we are proud to be associated with this notable estate.
Few wineries have a history as distinguished as that of Vega Sicilia. Founded in the 1860s, its top cuvée Unico was Spain’s first great wine and until recent decades the only Spanish wine collected and coveted throughout the world. Acquired by the Álvarez family in 1982, Vega Sicilia is unquestionably a unique wine and still one of the great Spanish classics. These wines enjoy a certain old but stately air, like period furniture; wines with great elegance, finesse, complexity and the ample capacity for maintaining their characteristics in the bottle for a long time.
