Our elusive Cellar Master was successful in his bidding for Lot no. 24 - “The Godfather” Lot by Paul Cluver at the annual AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction earlier this year where Restaurant Mosaic contributed an astonishing R550 000 for uplifting underprivileged communities and supporting education in the winelands of South Africa.

Part of this exclusive lot also included a rare collection of 60 bottles of Pinot Noir blended personally for Mosaic by the award-winning winemaker Andries Burger from Paul Cluver Vineyards and in preparation of making this special blend the Mosaic cellar team travelled to Elgin.

We were welcomed with a hearty Cluver family reception and lunch before heading into the cellar with winemaker Andries to taste and select an array of Pinot Noir samples straight from the barrels. This special Paul Cluver Mosaic Barrel selection will be showcased with the launch of our next spring menu in 2016.

Spending an afternoon discovering the magic of the Paul Cluver estate is certainly not enough time to take in the diversity and all the incredible hard work that the Cluver family has put into this farm and we look forward to return very soon...
